Sissy- 2 of Wands

This screen performance by Uma Thurman has stayed with me since I first watched Even Cowgirls Get The Blues as a little one. Sissy Hankshaw has big Aries energy, hitchhiking her way to enlightenment, using her trusty thumbs for "Greater Freedom Of Movement."

She has Sagittarius vibes too, darting back and forth across the United States "Cooling her thumbs in both oceans"

The film by Gus Van Sant with its immaculate KD Lang soundtrack, encouraged me to read the book by the mastermind of Tom Robbins.

It sure was a trip to stretch my tiny teenage mind around this psychedelic text, but Sissy started to grow right inside of me. I love her, and Tom ,and Uma dearly for all of their subliminal guidance.

Upright, the TWO OF WANDS could be:
“[Sissy’s] thumbs talked back to her in thumbtalk: tingles, throbs and itches.
Until at last she knew. Accepted what she had always sensed.
They were an invitation, a privilege audaciously and impolitely granted, perfumed with danger and surprise, offering her

greater freedom of movement

inviting her to live life at some ‘other level.’ If she dared.”

Reversed, the TWO OF WANDS could be:

“Sissy and Jelly lay under the same stars, under the same clouds, under the same blankets, under the same spell. As dawn's famous rosy fingers grasped the life preserver of the horizon, the early-rising cranes overheard Jelly say, 'Every time I tell you that I love you, you flinch. But that's your problem.'"

Read the book, or watch the film. Either way, after you are done you'll be fired up to hit the road.
